It was bound to happen eventually. After countless weeks of one- and two-thousand-dollar totals, I’ve finally hit the five-digit weekly total (and then some). If it’s any justification whatsoever, the money is a loan and will be paid back on a regular schedule that I’m sure I will hate soon enough.
It suddenly occurs to me that this is the largest debt I’ve ever incurred, if you don’t count our mortgage (which, clearly, I entirely forget about). Sure, I bought a new car in the 00s, but it cost me around €15,000 and I had €5,000 to put down. I got a tax bill one year for €14,000 (my heart quickens at the mere thought of it now), but you’re given some time to pay that, which I did, though it hurt me to do so.
I’m hoping it will be worth it in the end, or, at least, that it will give me little to no trouble. Thoughts and prayers, please!
