Don't they say variety is the spice of life?

It is still freezing cold in Fort Wayne. We had a moment of respite this week, when temperatures got up to 15C, but it’s back down to freezing now, with flurries of snow peppering each day.

I’d forgotten quite how long the winter seems to last here. It gets cold, then colder, and coldest, until it’s too cold to take walks or get in the car without warming it up first, and it stays that way for weeks, maybe months, until it thaws quite late, in April or even May.

But then there is the beautiful, glorious summer! I am looking forward to days when I can wear dresses without tights, T-shirts without jumpers, hop in the car and go to the drive-thru ice-cream shop (closed in winter) on the way to my sister’s to hang out by the pool.

Summer was top of mind for a few of this week’s purchases – and, because it is, after all, the week of romance, so was love.
