I recorded my audiobook this week, in Sweetwater Studios, an 11-minute drive from my house. The deal was come to rather late, at least, in terms of the book’s release date of July 6th.

I’d been pushing for an audiobook, even suggesting I record it myself, although I wasn’t sure how that would even work – can you self-publish an audiobook? – and, in any case, my editor at Unbound was sure that we could get a deal from one of the big audiobook publishers: Audible and Spotify are the purely audio names, but a lot of the big publishing houses – Hachette, Simon & Schuster, Penguin etc – publish audiobooks, too.

In the end, it was Spotify that took the bait, buying the exclusive rights to the audiobook of This is Not About You, in a deal that would net me $
