Monday

Having entirely forgotten that today is New Year’s Day, I’m shocked and dismayed when I realise that Robin isn’t open today (although not quite as shocked and dismayed as I am when, later that day, Atlas has such terrible diarrhea that I decide not to send him to her at all this week, just in case it’s contagious). What a way to start the week!

As it happens, Brandin’s off today so we have quite a nice, chilled day – we have breakfast and then he heads to the gym, and when he gets back I do a little work until nap time, when we put Atlas down together.

Once he’s down I finish up the piece I’m working on, schedule it to send in the morning (it’s for an Irish company so because of the time difference I always do it the night before) and then have a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch before sitting down to do a lot of reading.

Around 3pm, Brandin heads to get the boys for their usual Monday and Tuesday nights – they’re not back at school until Thursday so we’ll have some time at home together on Tuesday and Wednesday – and we have pasta for dinner.

Despite my actively buying nothing today, it’s not a zero-spend day because my Mideer Pay in 4 comes out ($32.73), for some Christmas gifts I bought, along with my first month’s YMCA membership. ($57)

Daily total: $89.73
