Monday
For the past few weeks, Bea and I have Monday mornings pencilled in as our podcast recording times, but inevitably end up pushing things back or forward in response to some unforeseen event or other.
Sadly – although also not sadly – Beatrice has now been offered not one but two jobs (more on which on the podcast Patreon), so this morning is our last Monday morning recording in a while. Why is it only when things are coming to an end that you’re like, wow, I should’ve enjoyed that more?!
Anyway, we make it short and sweet because she has several calls and meetings this afternoon ahead of her start date next week, and once she’s headed back home I go upstairs and get to editing a podcast episode, writing a piece of content that’s due today and working on some Substack work.
Because I’m starting the week how I mean to go on – my autocorrect changed “starting” to “starving” there, which felt positively Freudian – I make myself some pasta for lunch and feel very frugal.
Brandin and the boys pick Atlas up after babysitting and then we all play outside in the garden for a little bit (is spring finally here?!?! This will be funny next week trust me) before coming back in to have dinner.
Despite my now weekly attempts to get the boys to sit down and watch The Hunger Games with me, the older two can’t agree on what to watch and end up sulking on separate sides of the room so we allow the tiny dictator to choose the show and all end up watching Paw Patrol for what feels like six hours before bedtime.
