Earlier this week, I spent some time creeping on the Irish influencers I no longer follow, but whose goings-on I’m still occasionally curious about.

I’ve nothing against most of them, to clarify; over the years, I’ve unfollowed people when I realised that seeing their posts or stories was giving me feelings of jealousy and inferiority that were 100% about me and my own insecurities – why wasn’t I given that opportunity?! vibes – but still managed to drag me down, to the point that I decided I’d be happier if I didn’t see their content (and, yes, something I’m always working on is my natural tendency towards comparison and jealousy!).

Anyway, one of the gals whose stories I caught up on was talking about how she and her partner approach screen time for their child, who’s roughly the same age as Atlas. “He’s never seen a TV, except for a few minutes here and there in someone else’s house,” she wrote. “And he doesn’t know what a phone is for, beyond work and FaceTiming family.”
