Winter's a Good Time to Stay in and Cuddle

…but it's easy to say that when it's all shiny and new

as seen through the mosquito mesh of our downstairs window

It started to snow on Sunday evening. As the day got dark – early, so early these days, before dinner is ready, shortly after the kids have started to come home from school, trudging along the path from where the bus leaves them, barely in the door before the sun has set – the snow began to fall, flakes flurrying softly to the ground.

It wasn’t the first snow we saw this winter.
